Contribute significantly to the development of a world-class discovery informatics platform for drug delivery and formulation that will guide experimental design. Develop physical/chemical property relationships for drug-delivery systems using informatics & computational chemistry methodologies. Apply or develop pattern recognition and data reduction methods to large multidimensional data. Work with non-computational scientists and engineers. Provide input on the development of an integrated environment for data mining. This position requires a Ph.D. in computer science, chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field. Strong expertise in data mining or artificial intelligence methodologies including, but not limited to, transformations, linear and non-linear modeling, probabilistic models, classification, and multivariate visualization. Minimum of two years experience in a broad range of data mining problems. Familiarity with Microsoft NT, Unix/Linux, Java, C++, Database systems. Minimum of three years of programming experience. Experience with algorithm prototyping environments (e.g. MATLAB or Mathematics) or data mining environments (e.g. STATISTICA) is a plus. Strong problem solving, verbal and written communication skills. Must be creative, team oriented, and self-motivated.
