This is a call for participation to an International cooperative effort for
the definition and realization of one or more benchmarks for transient
classification systems in the process industry.

With the term "transient classification" we intend to include tasks involving
the recognition of temporal patterns in process data. Our choice of the term
transient classification is ment to stress that the intended application
domain is the process
industry (e.g. nuclear, chemical, etc.) as opposed to other application
domains also involving temporal pattern recognition, such as, for example,
speech recognition.
