We are seeking qualified candidates to participate in research and
development leading to next generation software products in the areas
of personalization and adaptive electronics.  Activities include:

* learning of user profiles for content preferences
* filtering content metadata according to these profiles
* developing innovative methods for automatically classifying content.

Current applications include electronic program guides, audio
retrieval and emerging e-Commerce applications.  The work involves
close collaboration with research peers and liaison with internal
customers in global Philips Electronics.

We require a Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, EE or related field, with
broad knowledge of the field of machine learning, and a commendable
record of publication in peer-reviewed conferences and journals.  Also
required is extensive software development and relevant work
experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
