KDnuggets Poll, conducted over the period of Dec 5-16, asked KDnuggets.com visitors "What region are you from?" The results, compiled from 293 voters (from about 18,000 unique visitors to KDnuggets.com during that period) are: REGION VOTERS USA/Canada 38% West Europe 27% Asia 15% Latin America 8% East Europe 5% Australia/NZ 3% Africa/MidEast/Other 4%See www.kdnuggets.com/polls/2000/region.htm Note: a viewer was surprised to see "Other regions". However, KDnuggets has subscribers from 92 domains including islands like Maldives and Niue, which are hard to classify into the regions above. One can unscientifically measure the "participation" index of a region
by dividing the percentage of regional participation by the percentage
among the subscribers. This would indicate how likely a person from
this region to participate in a poll, compared to an average.
