Apply their in-depth systems knowledge and technical skills to solve
business problems by performing "data-intensive deliverable-oriented"
tasks in all phases of the systems life-cycle and customer
relationship management phases.  These include database management,
datamart enhancements, data cleansing, maintenance of data dictionary,
new campaign database programming and SAS administration.  Will play a
critical role in the RCI future E-Commerce, CRM and Marketing Data
Mart projects.

Become the expert in all aspects of RCI and Cendant consumer and
marketing data as well as external data such as service bureau and
geo-demographics overlay data.  Have the hands-on expertise to
navigate and extract required data for the statistician and business
analysts to use for their respective work.  Maintain data dictionaries
and stay current with RCI system workflow changes and other
MIS-related projects that may impact the business or interpretation of
key management reports.  To do these require frequent interactions
with the RCI Technology Group.  Act as data scientist to develop
long-term strategies and plans for improving existing information
processing and delivery capabilities as they pertain to database
marketing.  Analyze the functions and activities of the businesses to
determine ways in which performance could be enhanced by better
systems, controls and procedures.

Help specify a system (inputs, outputs, data human and automated
interfaces) to meet marketing information processing objectives.
Evaluate alternative solutions (custom systems, commercially available
software packages, or modified existing systems) to identify the
option that maximizes benefits given cost, schedule and marketing
priorities and constraints.  Identify and design modifications to
tailor database marketing application software package and assist MIS
group in its implementation.  Help to test software and manual
procedures to ensure that all aspects of a new or modified system
conform to marketing design specifications.  Develop and implement
marketing database project task plans.  Serve as liaison to the RCI
Technology Group by attending their key meetings.

Requirements:

* 5+ years of hands-on working experience with systems environment
  including mainframe and client-server, OLAP, data mining tools and
  databases, data administration.  Computer programming experience is
  a must.  SAS and E-Commerce solutions experience are big pluses.

* Experience with systems functional analysis/design, systems test,
  documentation, business process re-engineering.  Ability to design
  and develop marketing-specific and reporting applications are big
  pluses.

* Superior problem solving and innovative analytical skills with
  ability to work independently and in team environment.  Commitment
  to creating a learning organization.

* Keen interest in the business functions and applying technologies to
  gain competitive advantage or reduce costs through more efficient
  operations

* Undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science and Systems
  Administration.  Degrees in Statistics and Business Administration
  are pluses.
