DataLamp, new graphical data mining toolkit
Feb 15, 2001, UK. Lanner Group is pleased to announce their knowledge
discovery toolkit: DataLamp.

DataLamp is a Windows-based toolkit that supports all stages of the
KDD process and was designed around an experience-derived methodology.
At the centre of this new package is an innovative data mining
algorithm which is controlled by a modern heuristic search engine.
Rules are constructed based on a set of requirements provided by the
user.

* Allows targeting a class of interest (nugget discovery) opposed to
building rules for all classes. This approach is particularly useful
for describing rare events such as responses to mailing lists. The
algorithm can focus on describing the group of people who responded,
typically less than 5%, rather than the 95% who did not respond.

* Controls the complexity of the rules generated by limiting the
number of clauses.

* Introduce a bias towards accurate rules (for critical decisions)
or rules that favour coverage.

See www.datalamp.com or email info@datalamp.com for more
information.
