BriefsCRM and Supply-Chain Management integration at SAP, PeopleSoft, and IBMInforworld reports on a trend towards integration between CRM (customer relationship management) and SCM (supply-chain management) capabilities, in order to provide better analytics. To that end, SAP and Ascential Software, the Westboro, Mass.-based solutions half of recently divided database vendor Informix, will announce a deal this week that will allow SAP to resell Ascential's integration software to enable customers to analyze more aspects of their enterprise, SAP officials said. IBM is planning to beef up its core DB2 database engine with some of the analytical capabilities of Informix's database offerings as a result of its acquisition of Informix last week. PeopleSoft plans to ship three products in the fourth quarter that will extend its analytic offerings to business planning, work force development, and customer behavior modeling. Siebel Systems this summer will release Version 7.0 of its Siebel Analytics along with the rest of the Siebel 2001 suite. Analytics will introduce a full Web-based client and enhanced integration.
