The European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) held
its first annual conference last month, in Oslo, Norway.

to join ENBIS.  There is no fee at present, and amongst the working groups
that have been formed is one on Data Mining (Leader is Andrea
Ahlemeyer-Stubbe, Ahlemeyer@gmx.de), and one on Statistical Consulting
(Leader is John Shade, js@gdl.co.uk).

ENBIS currently has about 300 members, including some from outwith
Europe.  The next annual conference of ENBIS will take place in Rimini,
Italy, 23-24 September, 2002.
