SoftwareFrom: Harald Klein Date: Mon, 29 Oct 2001 14:17:22 +0100 Subject: TextQuest - software for the analysis of text - free test version available the test version 1.35 of TextQuest - text analysis software - is now ready for download from http://www.textquest.de/tqe.htm. The only limitations the test version has is that you cannot print and you are restricted to analyse 100 text units only. There are some sample files, and also the help system contains the important parts of the manual. TextQuest produces word lists or word sequences (e.g. United States of America, European Union, United Arab Emirates etc.) that contain the frequencies of these strings. Or concordances in KWIC (key word in context) format with variable line length. The readability module computes 30 formulas (e.g. Flesch, Fry, Gunning, Lix, WSTF) for English, German, and Spanish texts and can also give you hints which sentences and/or words are too long. The content analysis module works with dictionaries of your own, has strong validation features like rapport files for ambgiguous or negated search patterns, interactive coding, and produces data matrices ready for statistical analysis. For further questions, just e-mail me; I will be glad to help you.
