Company: This company develops innovative software and solutions in the for bioinformatics data exploration and analysis. This pre-IPO company has recently received an additional round of financing and is well-funded. Bioinformatics is an excellent area which is expected to grow in the current environment.

Position: the Data Miner will join the group which is providing data exploration, analysis and mining services in the area of bioinformatics. Sample tasks include analyzing DNA microarray data sets and Gene expression data.

Requirements

• a M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or similar
• at least 2 years of data mining experience
• Bioinformatics experience is strongly desirable
• Familiarity with a variety of data mining methods, such as classification, clustering, naive bayesian, support vector machines
• Experience with data mining tools such as Weka, S-plus or R, MATLAB, Clementine
• Knowledge of Java, Perl, Unix desirable

Salary range will depen on the experience. Additional benefits include stock options.
