Developed by genomics experts from Stanford University and the Whitehead/MIT Center for Genome Research, XOL enables biologists to perform DNA microarray data analysis at an advanced level previously requiring extensive bioinformatics support staff.

XOL provides all of the standard clustering algorithms ('unsupervised learning') commonly used in microarray data analysis, and cutting edge 'supervised' machine learning pattern recognition algorithms. These methods, previously unavailable to most users, are required for extracting useful information from most functional genomics experiments.
