Subject: Wilmington, DE: Quantitative Analyst at First USA Bank

The Scoring and Technology Group at First USA Bank is looking for one or more quantitative researchers with interests in data mining and analysis to solve challenging problems in consumer credit and financial services. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (exceptional M.S.'s also considered) from an area such as statistics, operations research, computer science, mathematics, or engineering. Experience in any or all of the following is desired:

  • Modeling and analysis of very large data sets (via regression, neural networks, genetic algorithms, classification trees, etc.);
  • Experimental design;
  • Data base management (using Oracle SQL or other query language);
  • Optimization and simulation.
The positions require good programming (e.g., C/C++, Java) and Unix scripting skills (e.g., Perl) and experience with statistics or data mining software (e.g., SAS, S-plus, Matlab). Relevant business background is strongly preferred, but all levels of experience will be considered. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.
