Data Miner Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements
  • Strong data analytical skills
  • Ad hoc prototyping skills using multiple techniques to solve a myriad of business scenarios
  • Expertise in on-line analytical processing (OLAP) and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with SQL and other standard database query tools
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, UDB, SQLServer, and Data Marts and Data Warehouses
  • Experience with the NT and Unix operating systems
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel is expected and may require up to 30% of overall time
Preferred Background
  • Financial services domain expertise in the following areas: trading and market making, money laundering within banking and brokerage firms, and retail brokerage customer surveillance
  • Familiarity with UML notation and the Rational Unified Process
