SoftwareFrom: Harald Klein Date: Mon, 24 Jun 2002 10:24:31 +0200 Subject: New Text Analysis software: TextQuest, TextGrab, ConClus the following programs maybe of your interest: TextQuest 1.62: a text analysis program that is useful for exploring texts, coding responses to open ended questions, content analysis, and readability analysis with more than 40 formulas (Flesch, FOG, SMOG, FRY. WSTF, also formulas or German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, and Swedish texts). More info: http://www.textquest.de/tqe.htm TextGrab 1.2: a special offline reader that downloads the text files of an internet site (*htm*, php*, cfm, txt). RTags removes HTML tags and translates non-english characters. The downloaded files are prepared to be directly processed by TextQuest. So it is easy to do content analyses of web sites. More info: http://www.textgrab.com ConClus: a cluster analysis program (MS-DOS, but runs on Windows except XP) that also can do factor and scale analysis as well. Testing cluster structures (contrained cluster analysis) is also possible. The cluster solutions are reproducable, and the program is very fast and can process huge amount of data. More info: http://www.intext.de/CONCLUSE.HTM Also my web site on text analysis (http://www.textanalysis.info) was updated and contains a book section now. If you have any questions concercing the software and/or the websites, don't hesitate to ask.
