We are looking for an architect to join our Web Proxy Infrastructure Team that supports 13+ billion web requests a day and supports AOL™s service and web-based parental controls. Your duties will include designing and developing new features along with analyzing and improving system performance. You should have strong design, analytical and programming skills, experience with natural language processing and intelligent data mining, proven experience in shipping a product, and excellent knowledge in multiplatform development (e.g., HP, Linux, and Solaris).

We are looking for someone with great energy, excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, great multitasking skills and excellent communication skills.

Skills Required: Unix/Linux experience; C; background in machine learning/neural; networks/intelligent data mining; expertise in text classification and natural language processing; strong interests in information filtering/retrieval and knowledge discovery.

Skills Desired: Event-driven programming experience; TCL programming experience; Multithreaded programming experience; Relational database experience; Sybase experience; AOL Server experience (www.aolserver.com); sockets programming; TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, and other networking protocol experience; Client/Server development.

Years of Experience Required: 10+

Education/Equiv. Experience: Masters/PhD
