JOB DESCRIPTION

The Mathematics and Computing Technology applied research organization in the Boeing Company invites applications for the position of Senior Manager, Data and Text Mining group. This group's charter is to research and apply data and text mining tools on Boeing data sets to improve Boeing's business, products, processes and services, and to assess, integrate, and extend when necessary emerging Data and Text Mining technologies to meet Boeing's challenging needs. This mission is carried out through interaction with the academic, industrial, and government research community, and through active technology transfer engagement with Boeing business units. The position combines responsibility for technical program management and line management.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field, with experience working on applied topics in academic or industry research laboratories. Candidates must possess a research and publication record in technologies related to data and text mining. Knowledge of Natural Language and Text Processing technologies will be an added plus. Candidates must have a successful record of leading teams of researchers and a clear vision of future technology directions in this field. Candidates should also possess a breadth of effective communication skills to reach technical as well as executive audiences. A track record of applied research and acquiring external funding is a plus.

Other requirements are U. S. citizenship or permanent resident status, and a Secret Clearance or the ability to acquire one.
