DaimlerChrysler Research and Technology in Ulm, Germany, offers the following positions. They are related to several teams developing technologies for data analysis in various automotive business fields. Very good knowledge of German is essential.

  1. Data Mining in Vehicle Data. In this position, you will be part of a team developing technologies for the analysis of vehicle data for applications such as predictive diagnosis and quality improvement. We are looking for outstanding developers with strong Java skills, experience with data mining or statistics, and engineering background.

  2. Development Early Warning Systems for Quality Management and Forecasting Systems. We are looking for two mathematicians, statisticians, or computer scientists with mathematical / statistical background, experience in programming of algorithms (preferably: C and UNIX), basic comprehension of numerical mathematics and statistics, the capability of creative coding of roughly specified algorithmic solutions, and bringing them up to field operation.

  3. Web Mining in Business Applications. For our web mining team, we are looking for developers with programming skills in C / C++, Java, Java Server Pages, HTML, XML, and SQL with additional knowledge in operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Linux as well as database systems such as DB2, mySQL, MS SQL Server. Know-how in machine learning, data and web mining techniques is also required as well as at least two years professional practical experience in some of these areas.

  4. Data Mining in Financial Risk Management. For our team Data Mining in Banking, we are looking for a computer scientist, statistician or mathematician with strong skills in database systems and data warehouse concepts. Knowledge in database design and planning of IT infrastructures is required as well as familiarity with MS SQL Server, MS Access and SAS(r) Statistical Analysis System. Practical experience (preferably in the IT department of a bank or financial services company) and programming skills (Java, C++) are welcome.
