Molecular Mining goes out of business

Canadian newspaper Kingston Whig (Mar 8, 2003) reports that Molecular Mining corporation, developer of bioinformatics tool GeneLinker, has laid off all of its staff and gone out of business.

“We have great technology – perhaps ahead of its time,” Molecular Mining president and CEO Evan Steeg said yesterday.

When it went out of business this week, the company had 26 people on staff.

Molecular Mining’s data mining software, GeneLinker, which uncovers patterns and correlations in gene expression, obtained clients and partners around the world, such as the U.S. Army, GlaxoSmithKline, and Johnson & Johnson.
