We are preparing the first volume

Rough Sets: Theory and Applications (RSTA) vol.1, Advances in Rough Sets, Subseries of Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Sciences.

In the last two decades we have witnessed growing research interest concerning the rough set theory and its applications. Introduced by Professor Zdzislaw Pawlak in 1981 rough set theory has reached a significant level of international recognition, maturity, and a wide spectrum of applications.

The aim of this RSTA volume is to present the current state of the research and applications of rough set theory. Topics in the RSTA will include advances in theory and application of rough sets as well as the theoretical foundations and applications of hybrid methods combining rough sets with other approaches substantial for design of intelligent systems.

The following areas of rough sets will be included in RSTA.

1. Theoretical issues related to:

recurrent processing, clustering, multi-resolution processing, granular computation, time-series and temporal data processing, feature selection, classifier design, pattern discovery, continuous features and feature discretization, preserving similarity, hybrid processing (rough sets, fuzzy sets and Bayesian processing), genetic, evolutionary and immunogenetic methods in rough set processing.

2. Applications:

modeling, compression, image processing, time-series, speech and language processing, text processing and web mining, bio-informatics, genomic science, content based similarity retrieval, signal processing, intelligent systems, prediction and control, robotics, business and finance.

We are inviting you to prepare a chapter for RSTA. We are looking forward to your chapter with a great interest.
