Subject: Information Visualization Journal

We would like to draw your attention to one of our new journals, Information Visualization (IVS). One of the most unique and exciting features of IVS is its unique standing in the broad field of computer science. Up until now, information visualization research has been disseminated in a wide range of publications, however few have been devoted to information visualization as a whole. The journal evolved out of the recognition that this evolving community needed a single, comprehensive forum for that would allow researchers and practitioners to keep up-to-date with the latest advances in the field. IVS provides a single focus, meeting the need for a dedicated, comprehensive and archival forum.

The journal publishes the latest developments and their impact on "real-world" problems; it covers a variety of aspects of information visualization, from fundamental research to practical applications. It provides a forum that can accommodate not only the unique focus of information visualization, but also the diverse interests of researchers and practitioners from an increasing range of disciplines. All articles are blind peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers, including one Associate Editor.

IVS has an exceptional Editorial Board, featuring key figures from the field of information visualization, including names such as Ben Shneiderman of the University of Maryland (who is the Advisory Editor), Matthew Chalmers of Glasgow University in the UK, Daniel Keim of the University of Constance in Germany and Jim Thomas of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In addition, the journal has published a fine array of authors over the last year, including Pak Chung Wong and Robert Spence.
