Job Responsibilities:

This staff position is expected to play a contributing role on a team of analysts, scientists and developers on techniques and methodologies. The scientist will work with others in the advanced development group and in other departments (e.g., Engineering, Professional Services, Business Consulting analysts, CTO, etc.). The responsibilities of the Advanced Development department are as follows: (i) develop data mining, statistical and optimization models and algorithms for customer segmentation, price elasticity estimation and optimal price setting; (ii) research and develop data mining, statistical and optimization algorithms with applications to product and service pricing; (iii) validate algorithms and models through prototypes; and (iv) write functional specs for the implementation of the algorithms and models in production code and closely with R&D teams to guarantee implementation of the specs.

Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years of work experience (post-degree) either in an R&D Lab, software company, or consulting organization; OR background with knowledge of advanced statistics, probability models, and data mining techniques

  • development experience with one or more of the following: SPSS, S-PLUS, or SAS;

  • working knowledge in Relational Databases, SQL, Data Input & Output required;

  • experience writing technical specifications (product, functional, design) for communicating requirements to a development team
