The College of Science and Technology at Temple University is recruiting for faculty positions in the Center for Information Science and Technology and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences. All tenure-track positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer and Information Sciences or a related area at the time of employment. Recent graduates applying for Assistant Professor positions are expected to have significant research accomplishments with clear potential for external funding. Applicants for Associate Professor or Professor positions must have a strong externally funded research program and a substantial publications record. Exceptionally qualified applicants at the Professor level will also be considered for a Director's position at the Center for Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, bioinformatics, databases, data mining, machine learning, distributed computing, and mobile computing. We especially encourage applications from candidates whose research is interdisciplinary in nature. Salaries for new faculty are highly competitive, and substantial resources have been allocated for startup funding.

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences has 22 tenure-track faculty members with strengths in broad areas of Computer and Information Sciences and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in basic and multidisciplinary areas. Temple University, a Carnegie Research I Institution, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is part of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth System of Higher Education and serves more than 33,000 students.

Applicants should send curriculum vita and bibliography, a statement of recent achievements and research goals, four letters of reference, three representative publications, and a statement of teaching philosophy to the address below.
