The CIS Department at Temple University anticipates three openings for full-time faculty positions for the 2004-2005 academic year. These are exclusively teaching positions involving three or four courses per semester. The appointments are for one year or for multiple years, depending on qualifications and experience, and are not tenure-track. Positions may be renewable, for a maximum of six years, subject to availability of funds, departmental needs, and evaluation of the appointee's performance. The primary criteria for appointment are demonstrated mastery of the appropriate subject matter and demonstrated teaching excellence in a university setting. Teaching experience in other settings is also desirable. Advanced degrees (M.S. and/or Ph.D.), particularly in IT or CS, are preferred.

Specific requirements for the three positions:

Position 3: Thorough working knowledge of design and implementation of computer systems based on extensive business-based experience. Expertise in the application of object-oriented programming, and current design technology used in the solution of real problems. Experience working with clients to refine system requirements and demonstrated ability to teach this skill to others. Thorough understanding of the testing and evaluation of software systems.
