Seattle-based digital media and webcasting services company Loudeye Corp. has bought Overpeer Inc. of New York in a stock deal worth about $4 million.

Overpeer technology and digital data mining is used in anti-piracy efforts by media companies. Overpeer clients include record companies, film studios, television networks, game publishers, and software companies and its data management system monitors file-sharing worldwide to prevent unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted material.
