We have two positions available for Project Connection Machine, an R&D effort to apply techniques of AI and Knowledge Management to locate experts and expertise within a global, 120,000-employee company.

Adaptive Systems Specialist - Researcher

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and evaluate the user adaptive component of an expert locator system and evaluate potential use of applying collaborative approaches in conjunction with content based methods to push information to end users.
• Analyze and document the impact of user characteristics on knowledge acquisition, utilization, maintenance and feedback workflows.
• Develop user model that extends the existing knowledge representation, and methods to generate initial user profiles from existing data and user input.
• Assist in the development of similarity metrics for application area.

Ph.D / MS in CS or related, experience in personalization and user adaptive system development, knowledge management, knowledge representation, structural case-based reasoning and data mining. Hands-on experience with web application development in a J2EE environment required.
