Subject: Yonkers, New York: Senior Bio-Imaging Engineer at molecular pathology company

DESCRIPTION:

Research, develop, and implement advanced bio-imaging algorithms applied to the field of Pathology [breast and prostate cancer]

Specific responsibilities include algorithm research and development, system design, and software development.

Responsible for reviewing user requirements, writing technical specifications, writing code, documenting the execution of any unit testing, and integrating related tools.

Responsible for conducting periodic technical reviews of in-house developed software to ensure conformance to coding standards. Develop and maintain a positive business relationship with key R&D IT areas.

Proactively identify new trends and technologies for application within the company, review and evaluate the capabilities of existing systems, and possess a clear understanding of the system development and maintenance life cycle.

Some domestic travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D. in Machine Vision, Computer Science, Mathematics.
Minimum Five years experience in image processing applied to Pathology.
Knowledge of cancer biology. Strong mathematical background and aptitude.
Experience with mathematical analysis and algorithm development for statistical modeling and pattern recognition applications.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work independently and provide team technical guidance.
Strong knowledge of Matlab and C/C++
