Chordiant Software, Inc has immediate openings for analytics-intensive team members to work within our North American pre-sales organization. Chordiant solutions automate and manage operational business processes for leading service-driven global organizations in retail banking, credit card services, lending, insurance and telecommunications while enabling customers to gain substantial reductions in operational costs, increased retention rates and significantly improved selling opportunities.

As an Analytics Pre-Sales Consultant for our Decision Management product line, you will be responsible for providing sales support to the sales team, promoting a full understanding of areas of specialization with an ability to resolve a wide range of business and technical issues in creative ways. Chordiant sales consultants exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques for obtaining solutions while networking with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

You will be much closer to the customer than most developers ever get; the position requires heavy travel (75-100% weekday travel, mostly to east coast customers) making technical presentations to potential customers. We have a strong preference for candidates located within commuting distance of either of our east coast offices (Boston MA & Manchester NH). When not traveling, you would be officed there. Secondary consideration will be given to candidates outside those areas, provided you are: home office based, located near a major airport, and are OK with the extensive travel to our North American client base.

Essential Functions

  • Develop strong relationships with sales organizations to ensure teamwork and synergy.
  • Communicate and strategize regularly with sales managers and or sales reps.
  • Promote the value of the complete product solution to customers, as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of products, integration, applications and services of the company and its competitors.
  • Manages the product demo environment and drive changes and enhancements for future product demonstrations.
  • May assist marketing with presentations at trade shows or conferences.
  • A solid history in the high-end solutions arena or to strategic accounts in Fortune 1000 customers required.
Experience/Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, effectively and convincingly, in a presentation format to an audience of potential customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to translate technical information into easily understandable terms
  • Practical knowledge of databases, data management tools, reporting, business intelligence, campaign management, statistics/data mining/machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Substantial experience within CRM / Interactive Marketing / Direct Marketing is essential for a senior sales consultant in the decisioning arena.
  • Knowledge of one or more of our vertical markets: Retail Banking, Credit Cards and Insurance with a business level understanding (marketing, sales, service) that enables team member to understand and solve business problems through the use of decisioning.
  • SAS and Data Modeling knowledge, plus SQL experience is required; Java coding experience, JSP, HTML, XML are all desirable skills
Position requires advanced education with a background in economics, computer science, marketing, business strategy and analysis with background/knowledge of quantitative economics, computer sciences, quantitative psychology, and statistical analysis.
