Business Intelligence Group Overview
Business intelligence team at SDS builds powerful, scalable reporting platform of consumer and web analytics and provides comprehensive business intelligence services to Yahoo! business and product users to maximize data-driven decision-making and product innovation. Customers of business intelligence products include analysts, product managers, and executives.

Essential Job Functions

• Plays a critical role in the YMG (Yahoo Media Group) data mart team
• Designs, implements, tests the analytical data mart and reporting system for Y! Media business unit
• Responsible for data acquisition/analysis/design, logical/physical modeling, database architecture design, query performance optimization, and analytical reports set up

• Works with team members to resolve reporting issues
• Performs data quality validation
• Writes design, implementation, testing, operation documents

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 5 years experience building Oracle based data marts which includes
  1. Dimensional data model designs using modeling tools e.g Oracle Designer, ERWin
  2. Must have implemented partitioning in a mart environment at least once
  3. Must be familiar with bitmap indices and star-transformations
  4. Must be aware of performance and scalability considerations in a mart environment.
  5. Must be an intermediate to advanced PL/SQL programmer
  6. ETL processing
• Must have implemented slowly changing dimesions SCD 2
• Must be very familiar with ETL coordination issues
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields

• MicroStrategy experience a plus
