Purdue center finds data management techniques for homeland security

A new center funded by the Department of Homeland Security and Purdue University has been devoted to researching ways to improve security and emergency response.

The Purdue University Regional Visualization and Analytics Center is one of five regional centers focused on improving emergency planning management by tailoring the way information is presented.

David Ebert, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and center director, said the center is using the concept of visualization to manage the influx of data for homeland security.
