Financial Analyst - Corporate Development

The Financial Analyst position will focus on analytic support for Strategic Development and assist in the implementation of Hyperion Planning. The analyst will be responsible for developing ad-hoc analysis and ongoing reporting for the financial performance of different portfolios programs. This role requires the ability to take raw business requirements and then turn them into a data or analytical solution.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, testing, and documentation of budget and forecasting processes within Hyperion Planning and Essbase
• Develop planning templates using Hyperion Planning Web Forms and Essbase Excel work sheet add-ins
• Produce analysis and develop recommendations to enhance portfolio value by identifying opportunities and anomalies associated with portfolio profitability and product trends and produce associate impact analysis
• Design and develop complex SQL queries via SQL Plus, Hyperion Intelligence, or any other GUI tool deployed at Washington Mutual Card Services
• Analyzes performance of business sales

• Bachelors degree and 2+ years experience in decision support focused on finance, or advanced degree
• Strong understanding of finance terminology, concepts, and tools
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and experience in Oracle SQL code
• Understanding of data modeling concepts, architecture, and decision support systems
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and in teams
• Willingness and eagerness to learn new data concepts, tools, and/or programming languages
• Strong background in Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Essbase a plus
