Primary Job Responsibilities
The Manager, Marketplaces Metrics will be responsible for understanding the eBay Marketplaces business and ensuring that the proper metrics are in place to monitor and drive business results. This role promises to be a challenging position requiring a combination of analytical, technical, facilitation, presentation, and personnel management skills which has an opportunity to have a positive impact on the usage of information in the eBay Marketplaces business unit. This position will report to the Director of Marketplaces Reporting & Metrics within both the Information Management & Delivery and Marketplaces Finance Organizations at eBay. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will bring strong management skills, an analytical mindset, a detail orientation, a strategic outlook, and a positive can-do attitude to the following responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough understanding of the eBay Marketplaces business and consult directly with business and financial managers to ensure the right metrics are in place and are properly used to interpret and drive business results
• Establish and manage a formal process to review and update the eBay Marketplaces� metrics and definitions on a recurring basis to ensure they meet the rapidly evolving needs of the business
• Manage a team of 2 analysts to prototype new metrics and data sets; prioritize and manage the prototype queue; and coordinate with business managers to retire or productionalize prototypes
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the eBay Marketplaces metrics and reporting, prototype solutions, and present results to members of the finance and business leadership teams to drive changes in formally used business metrics and reporting
• Own key business metrics and data marts for the Marketplaces Finance team. Partner with the core Data Warehouse team to ensure that appropriate service level agreements and data quality checks are in place for key metrics and data marts; evaluate and sign off on periodic metric delivery
• Ensure metrics are properly and clearly defined and that the definitions are widely available to the appropriate internal users

• Candidate must have a strong business acumen, excellent management skills, and solid business experience in a quantitative or technical finance role
• Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and formal presentation skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across all business functions and all levels of management.
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve application design considerations, technical issues, and business problems
• Excellent technical database analysis skills including Excel (with VBA), SQL, Business Objects/MicroStrategy, and/or SAS; preferably in a large data warehouse environment
• Strong technical experience with databases and data warehousing concept/tools (Database design, SQL, ETL- Informatica or Ab Initio, Reporting tools etc.)
• Experience in project/program management; strong business analysis and process re-engineering skills.
• Bachelor or equivalent required, MBA or advanced quantitative degree preferred.
• A minimum of 7+ years related experience
