Microsoft Digital Advertising Lab
In the Microsoft Digital Advertising Lab, we are responsible for conducting applied research and providing data mining services for Microsoft online advertising monetization strategies and their execution worldwide.

We are looking for data mining analysts to build data mining models and perform data mining analysis services for Microsoft stakeholders worldwide.

Core Job Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will

• Provide data mining services to Microsoft business units using various data sources, some of which may include online web usage, demographic, subscription, and external data
• Provide complete solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining techniques, and statistics
• Work on projects which may include case studies, methodology research, tool evaluations, prototyping, model development and deployment
• Serve or grow into subject matter expert on business intelligence, CRM and online ad targeting analysis and data mining needs for Microsoft

• Preferred experience solving online ad targeting, marketing and business problems using data analysis and data mining on real-world business data sets
• Broad experience in applying data mining techniques, neural networks, statistics, pattern recognition, nonlinear optimization, genetic algorithms, text mining, and information retrieval to real-world data
• Experience with data analysis tools, data mining tools, statistical packages, text mining and information retrieval methodologies
• Familiarity with relational databases and OLAP
• Superior communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging technical and business problems
• Attention to detail and data accuracy
• Good scripting and rapid prototyping skills, i.e. preferred fluency in the following: C#, SQL, Perl
• MS degree or PhD (preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required for this position
