The previous KDnuggets Poll asked:

What data mining/ analytic methods you used frequently in the last year?

The results show little change compared to a similar poll in 2005.

The average number of methods per voter was 3.2.

We see that the top 4 methods are the same:

  • Decision Trees/Rules
  • Clustering
  • Regression
  • Statistics
Three methods gained some popularity (relative to other methods)
  • Association Rules
  • SVM
  • Sequence/Time series analysis
While two methods have lost some popularity:
  • Nearest Neighbor
  • Neural Nets
