Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive information and explore new data sources supporting key strategic quantitative analyses for the Paid Search Team. The focus of this role will be to organize information from multiple data sources and to render it in a format suitable for analytical algorithms and processes, aimed at optimizing the keyword buys in our Search Engine partners (i.e. Google, Yahoo).

• Perform complex data manipulation and synthesize multiple streams of data. Extensive use of SQL on a data warehouse environment, use of the Unix shell, MS Access, and MS Excel will be required.

• Partner and work with Information Management and Engineering teams on the implementation and automation of derived Paid Search intelligence to support the global business operation using business application tools like SAS/SQL.

• Design and support the implementation of processes to minimize data quality risks and proactively identify potential data issues. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining accurate and consistent data.

• The candidate must show ability in project leadership and executing on multiple projects and tasks. This requires demonstrated technical skills in data manipulation, data architecture, and data organization & consolidation. Interpersonal, communication skills, and the ability to work in a diverse team environment is a must.

• Work with a variety of cross-functional teams to develop and execute initiatives. Develop and manage relationships with internal and external partners globally and across different eBay properties.

• Strong technical skills with the ability to translate complex transactional data into valuable analytical and insightful information.

• The candidate must also excel in strategic planning, project management, business analysis, & problem solving.

• Proficient using ANSI SQL on distributed data warehouse environment, Unix shell scripting and/or other scripting languages, Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of key financial calculations required.

• Resolve complex data issues in creative and effective ways. High self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• 3-5 years of experience in supporting highly quantitative and analytical projects. Familiarity with Search Marketing, eBay or eCommerce, and Marketing preferred.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information System or equivalent.
