Today Insightful Corporation (NASDAQ:IFUL) announced that DemandTec, Inc., the leading provider of Consumer-Centric Merchandising, Sales and Marketing solutions for the retail and consumer products industries, will deploy Insightful’s S-PLUS® software platform for DemandTec’s analytics and reporting solutions and for the prototyping of new solutions.

DemandTec selected Insightful’s S-PLUS to replace SAS after a thorough evaluation of all commercially available statistical and analytics software packages. The company will use S-PLUS for analysis of customer data as well as for prototyping scientific methodologies that support DemandTec’s pricing and promotion optimization software offering. By deploying S-PLUS, DemandTec can quickly develop prototypes and deploy targeted analyses and applications that support and enhance their strategic offering.
