National Center for State Courts Using SPSS to Analyze Data on U.S. State Courts

CHICAGO, Ill. (USA) December 4, 2006 SPSS Inc. (NASDAQ: SPSS), a leading worldwide provider of predictive analytics software, today announced that the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) has purchased additional SPSS technology to analyze data pertaining to U.S. state courts. The results will then be disseminated to administrative offices of the courts, judicial councils, legislative authorities, and court personnel.

For more than 30 years, court leaders have called on the NCSC for up-to-date information and hands-on assistance that helps it better serve the public. Through original research, consulting services, publications, and national educational programs, the NCSC offers solutions that enhance court operations with the latest technology, collects and interprets the latest data on court operations nationwide, and provides information on proven "best practices" for improving court operations.

The NCSC has deployed additional SPSS predictive analytics software for its research and court consulting branches. Within these areas of the organization, SPSS is harnessed to examine data on court sentencing, judicial and staff workload, court performance, domestic violence research, and general court statistics at the state level.
