Subject: Seattle, WA: Data Integration Architect at Qpass, Amdocs Digital Commerce Division
Use your experience working with knowledge management and generic data
models to lead a team bringing new capabilities to the market. You'll
work on creating a combination of state-of-the-art technologies to
deliver one of the new generation of predictive analytic products.
It's a new team, so you'll be filling in the big picture while you get
your hands dirty with some of the largest and most potentially
interesting sources of raw data to be found.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and build a 'data laboratory' to support experimental data analysis.
- Work with our product management, scientists and engineers to develop a robust ontology.
- Work with product manager to ensure architecture meets market needs.
- Create generic data models and define tools to integrate diverse sources according to the model.
- Support optimal implementation of information discovery and statistical modeling tools.
- Lead the team to realize a repeatable architecture that integrates large volumes of diverse data, supports automated analysis, and makes the analytic results available for on-line applications.
- Communicate requirements and specifications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Define, promote, and adhere to best practices for database design, programming, and data transformation.
- Understand available database technologies, their strengths and weaknesses
- Select and apply new technologies.
- Participate in the practice, definition of, and advocacy for the development process and related process improvements.
- Work in a Scrum team with scientist and engineers.
- Design and build high quality software as required while meeting implementation deadlines, especially using SQL and related technology.
- Contribute to documentation and presentations to explain concepts and architectures to analysts, consultants, potential customers and partners.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Collaborate with stakeholders, team members, business partners, and interested parties holding a diversity of perspectives and contributing a variety of needs and potential solutions while driving to deliver results.
- Ability to specify and communicate architectures at an abstract level that allows for various implementations.
- Extensive experience with data modeling techniques, including dimensional data modeling
- Extensive experience with data management tools, ETL processing, data analysis, modeling, and performance tuning
- Demonstrated capacity for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to translate general, high-level notions into concise designs
- Deliver work on time with multiple, competing priorities
- 5+ years experience with data modeling of relational and dimensional data
- 2+ years experience developing Business Intelligence (BI) or analytic databases. (Administration a plus)
- 5+ years experience developing enterprise class data warehouses. (Administration a plus.)
- 5+ years experience with SQL development and tuning
- 2+ years experience managing multi-terabyte databases
- 3+ years experience with Oracle on UNIX. (Linux a plus.)
- 2+ years experience with non-Oracle DBMS. (Open Source a plus.)
- Experience with common database modeling notations
- Experience with UML
- Experience with XML
- Experience with UNIX

- Experience optimizing multi-terabyte databases
- Experience with SOAP and XSL
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree required.
Position is located in Seattle, WA.
This is a full-time (exempt) position.
