Purpose/Summary:
The Senior Originations Analyst will be responsible for analytics for
the originations team which includes Dealers, Sales, Marketing, and
DPSC. The position focuses on analytics and communication. To be
successful the analyst must have a thorough understanding of the
business processes and then be able to frame the solutions for the
customer in the form quantifiable model. The output can be a simple
printed table, excel worksheet, or presented in Power Point to explain
complex interactions. In any case the results must be presented in a
clear and concise manner. The Senior Originations Analyst will create
operational reports for the departmental Vice President, will perform
ad hoc reports, and take on larger, more loosely defined projects that
will require a higher level of analytics. The analyst will be expected
to be self directed in day to day activities, and take on a
consultative role with the VP.
Keys to Success: The successful candidate should be able to
hit the ground running with a good grasp of the business processes,
technology and data organization to be able to take on quantitative
problems from day one. At the same time the analyst must be able to
communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure
the highest level of impact with the business.
As the analyst proves him/herself, they will be encouraged to initiate
their own analytics. These "science driven" projects are typically
from an entirely new perspective which can very often times have a
substantial impact on the business because they are so new. The
learning process should be continuous and should be a shared
responsibility between the analyst and manager. A high initial
starting point is required as is a high rate of growth.
It is expected that the analyst will work with other management when there is inter-dependencies and the IT team where appropriate. The successful candidate should have a portfolio of prior related work.
General Duties/Essential Functions:
- Creation of daily/monthly/annual reports to assist management in business decisions
- Write ad-hoc reports on a periodic basis
- Larger scale analysis to solve business problems using analytical techniques
- Work with other management when there is inter-dependencies and the IT team where appropriate
- Initiative own analytics
Background Requirements:
- 4 Yr Bachelor Degree required - advanced degree preferred
- 5 + years Analytical Experience required
- Consumer Finance experience preferred
- Cognos experience preferred
- SPSS experience preferred
Abilities and Skills Profile:
- Excel and Access proficiency required
- Good communication skills required
- Must have good quantitative background
