Roughly half of the science staff in Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) are rotators from universities and research labs. We will soon have for a Program Director in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems. We are seeking a Program Director in the Information Integration and Informatics cluster in such areas as Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, Information Privacy and Security, and related topics. Serving as an NSF Program Director is a particularly rewarding experience that involves both fostering innovative research and encouraging growth and broad participation in the discipline. It offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of the field. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2007, but is flexible. Rotators salaries and benefits (annualized with summer support to 12 months) are funded by NSF through a grant to their home institutions rotators remain on their home institutions payroll while serving at NSF. Additionally, for those not local to the NSF area, NSF provides a per diem allowance or moving expense reimbursement, and provides up to 50 days per year to continue your professional activities, including covering travel to your home institution as appropriate.
