The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) , created through the consolidation of NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers) and the member regulation, enforcement and arbitration functions of the New York Stock Exchange, is currently seeking talented individuals for our opening for several Surveillance Technology Specialists in our Rockville, MD location.

(FINRA) is the largest non-governmental regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States and is dedicated to investor protection and market integrity through effective and efficient regulation and complementary compliance and technology-based services.

Essential Job Fuctions:

  • Work closely with Surveillance Engineers.
  • Select and implement electronic surveillance technology solutions that evaluate Capital Market activity.
  • Investigate state of the art methods in data mining, statistics, and/or financial modeling and their application to the Market Regulation problem space.
  • Evaluate existing detection technologies and recommend system design and development practices to make optimal use of state of the art methods.
  • Participate in establishing annual strategic technology influencing surveillance activities.
  • Review, evaluate and document surveillance technology programs and procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with business users, internal and/or external participants.
Professional Qualifications: Successful candidate will posses a Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Statistics or the equivalent, with eight plus years of related experience. Masters degree or PhD preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Client management and interpersonal skills coupled with full lifecycle problem solving is required. Full knowledge and experience with all phases of systems analysis and programming and proven ability in data modeling and/or data mining techniques. Experience in implementing data-mining models in commercial applications. Strong organizational and solutions delivery skills (project management experience desired).
