Subject: Burlington, MA: Principal/Senior Product Manager at Oracle Data Mining Technologies

Job Description:
Working within the Oracle Server Technology's Data Mining Technologies Department in Burlington, MA, this Principal/Senior Product Manager will be responsible for technical product management activities in support of Oracle Data Mining and related in-database advanced analytical functions e.g. statistics, text mining, etc.

A major focus of this position is to provide in-depth technical assistance for customer proof-of-concepts (POCs) and sales support in sales and consulting opportunities. Product managers are also responsible for the design and integration of data mining products into internal Oracle and external ISV applications, support beta customers, provide critical input for product features and priorities and maintain customer feedback through the development and beta testing process. Additionally, the Principal/Senior Product Manager will build and deliver customer-oriented product demos, marketing collateral and sales support tools, perform competitive analysis, train the Oracle sales force and represent Oracle Data Mining to internal and external customers. Consequently, the Principal/Senior Product Manager should feel equally comfortable writing code and doing POCs as speaking with sales and customer decision makers and executives.

Detailed Description

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer requirements. Suggest and justify product directions and requirements. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Preferred Qualifications: BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Additional Details
Prefer eight or more years experience in the computer software industry. Three to five years experience and strong technical knowledge in the data mining, statistics, or analytics field. Excellent communication skills required. Master degree in related technical field (data mining, statistics, engineering, operations research, bioinformatics, or computer science) required, Ph.D. preferred.
