The Department Intelligent Vision & Reasoning of Siemens Corporate Research has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist. In this position, the candidate will be conducting leading-edge research and development related to data analysis, monitoring and diagnosis for industry automation, power generation and medical solutions.

Responsibilities of the position range from quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation to development of data analytics software product components. The candidate will apply state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, data mining and date base technology, multivariate data analysis, statistics and predictive modeling to create new intelligent software solutions.

We will preferably consider candidates with a Ph.D. in CS, EE or related fields with a proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality. Candidates should have C/C++ or Java proficiency on MS Windows platform. Experience in developing applications in a field such as machine condition monitoring, diagnosis, optimization, decision support, and advanced software engineering skills will be a plus.

Candidates need to have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently on problems, be an effective team player and be willing to accept challenge and responsibility.
