The Virtual Earth Business Unit is looking for experienced developers with a passion for developing rich clients and scalable location-enabled, real time web services to work on next generation Virtual Earth technology features. The VE team builds Live Maps, Virtual Earth 3D, MapPoint Web Service, Mobile Local Search, and Streets & Trips. We are lighting up the Local Search experience with real world search, navigation and discovery of information across all available devices and experiences, aerial, oblique and street side images, 3D/2.5D views, 3D fly-through, real-time location, traffic, speech/voice interfaces, and rich synchronization and integration with Windows Live Services and devices.

The candidate must have at least a Masters degree (PhD�s strongly preferred) or equivalent with 4+ years of software development experience and end to end product experience, from planning to shipping. You should have independent strong design, coding and debugging skills and in-depth knowledge (or the demonstrated ability to quickly become an expert on) of Win32, C#/CLR, WAN/LAN communications, ASP.NET, D3D,.NET Framework and AJAX. You should have excellent ambiguity management skills, be highly motivated and self-driven, possess excellent coordination, exec presentation and communication skills, and have demonstrable high-quality coding skills on all levels of the software stack from Kernel to Web. You should have the passion to tackle challenging and unknown areas and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
