Blogs are Dead!?! -- Not Among Gen Y

A couple of weeks ago Wired magazine featured one of the "founding fathers of blogging", Jason Calacanis, who claimed blogs are dead. Reasons being, spam, as well as lack of interest among everyone except large corporate sites. Other reasons related to SEO, which had been a key reason for the attractiveness of blogs to spammers. Apparently in response to the blog spam issue Google is dialing down the importance of blogs in their ranking formula.

Yahoo's automatic content optimization

FeedVis: An Integrated Feed Visualization and Reading System

FeedVis provides several dimensions along which to explore and consume feeds: time (via a time series), tags (via a linearized tag cloud) and specific blogs (via a list).
