Continuing the tradition of previous years, ICWSM-09 is making a new dataset available to researchers. The ICWSM-2009 dataset contains 44 million blog posts made between August 1st and October 1st, 2008. The organizers of ICWSM-09 especially encourage submissions that make use of this data.

A special "data challenge workshop" will be held on May 20th (the last day of ICWSM-09) for shorter, more focused, and/or late-breaking papers that use this ICWSM-09 dataset; the deadline for data challenge workshop papers is March 1, 2009. An award will be presented at the conference for the best paper using the dataset.
