Of the 82 IT "decision makers" surveyed by the Cambridge, Mass.-based research firm, only 18% said "reports and dashboards can be created by any end user with limited BI skills," the very definition of self-service BI. That's surely a much smaller percentage than vendors like Microsoft and SAP Business Objects -- both of which have made extending BI capabilities to non-power users a priority -- would like to see.
