Job Description
eBay is a leading provider of Internet Commerce on the planet that has over two million transactions a day generating $25B gross merchandise volume and about $9B of revenues. EBay is looking for highly motivated data mining professionals to help in utilization of this largest transactional data to advance eBay business in a variety of data mining applications such as query processing, search relevance, recommendations, optimization of page layout, advertisement, user research, and categorization.

This position will belong to the family Data Mining Scientist and will report into Data Mining Group of eBay Research Organization.

The candidate will work with other data mining professionals in close collaboration with business and engineering and tasked with solving difficult large-scale predictive mining tasks.

Qualifications:
1. Strong motivation to work with large-scale real-life data mining applications in team environment.
2. Perseverance, focus, ability to handle stress, integrity, imagination, ability to make things done, leadership in organization of a right and partnership with other teams, and clear communication.
3. Deep familiarity with all aspects of data mining process, from inception and data exploration, to model assessment, and contingency planning.
4. Proven knowledge in Machine Learning, Data Mining, or/and related field. Sound general education.
5. Strong background in computer science, algorithms, and software development.

Requirements:
1. Ph. D. in Machine Learning, Data Mining, or related field
2. 3-5 years of experience in working in industrial data mining environment or outstanding Academic achievements
