At Microsoft Advertising, we’re passionate about working with
advertisers, agencies, and publishers to help them engage with
valuable audiences through our innovative media solutions.
This position within the Advertiser and Publisher Solutions ("APS") Network
Management team is a great opportunity to guide the evolution of our
ad offerings and our network as a whole. The Network Management team:
- Drives network-wide strategy, initiatives, and policy decisions
- Aligns network supply/demand to optimize yield
- Addresses yield business intelligence tool/data needs
- Designs and executes key business management processes
The Sr. Product Manager or Director, Product Management will define network-wide strategies and policies, and will inform yield management decisions, working across the APS business group, with our Audience teams (MSN, Windows Live, Search, etc.), and with the Field.
Responsibilities will include some/all of the following:
- Leading projects that contribute to overall APS business and product strategy.
- Broadly guiding how our products’ distinct value propositions should evolve to optimize revenue.
- Contributing to marketplace design decisions and defining corresponding policies that shape the specifics of our advertiser and publisher offerings.
- Informing inventory flow and other yield management policies and decisions on a global basis.
- Engaging with Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Planning, and Business Management across the business group to accomplish all of the above.
- Being an expert on the competitive landscape for key products and the expert on the industry dynamics (the landscape and our position in it) for key products.
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ years in business management, product management, program management, and/or product marketing, ideally for an online advertising offering, web search product, or other Internet product/service.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, with experience in long-term business planning and strategy development.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills and a passion for data-driven decisions.
- Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Effective, demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Experience conducting focus groups, usability studies, and market research to validate product requirements and design decisions
- Strong written/verbal communications skills and relationship-building skills
- BS degree, preferably in a technical discipline
- MBA is a plus
