West Asset Management is currently seeking an analytics and modeling professional to join our dynamic data mining and modeling team within our Analytic Intelligence Group. Data Mining Analysts are responsible for conducting analytical and data-mining projects to prioritize customer contacts and improve operational performance. Successful candidates will have the appropriate mixture of analytics / research skills and familiarity with the practical business applications of predictive modeling within the accounts receivable management industry. Other success factors include the abilities to work in a fast-paced team environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously, to prioritize tasks and complete projects with minimal direct supervision, and to clearly communicate and present complex analytics results to internal business clients in practical and simple business terms.

Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, MIS, Psychology, or related field required.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Psychology, MIS, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.

• Minimum two years experience in statistics, data mining, or direct marketing consulting required.

• Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Required
• Knowledge of program languages (e.g., C++ C, etc.) preferred
• Knowledge of Databases (SQL, IBMDB2) preferred
• Knowledge of Statistical Software (SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Enterprise Guide, SPSS, etc.) preferred
