The Information Science Department of Pfizer's U.S. Pharmaceuticals
Division was created to enhance Pfizer's ability to acquire, understand
and capitalize on data. Our mission is to develop and execute strategies
to simplify and enhance access to improved data sources and to assist the
sales and marketing organizations in developing strategies for our leading
health care products. We are regularly involved in projects on customer
segmentation, promotion-response modeling, and new product launches. We
also lead efforts to evaluate and integrate new data sources into our
multi-terabyte health care databases. Pfizer U.S. Pharmaceuticals is
conveniently located in midtown Manhattan.
Our department has openings for Computer Scientists and Statisticians with
advanced degrees (Masters, MBA or Ph.D.). Specific skill sets desired
include:
* Machine learning and pattern recognition (decision trees,
clustering, neural nets, etc).
* Data visualization
* Data quality evaluation
* Statistical modeling and design of experiments (e.g. SAS)
* Data warehouse and data mart design (e.g. ORACLE, MS Access).
* OLAP advanced query tools (e.g. Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Cognos)
United States Citizenship or U. S. Permanent Residence is required.
Background in healthcare or pharmaceuticals is preferred but not required.
